Field of Hope

Field of Hope is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Lira, Uganda that strives to promote leadership, women's empowerment, and youth agriculture education.

I traveled to Lira in the summer of 2019 to capture the story of Field of Hope through photography and videography.

This video's purpose is to illustrate FOH's mission to it's stakeholders and identify Uganda's needs, as well as how FOH helps alleviate those needs.

SETTING THE SCENE

PAINTING THE PICTURE

Field of Hope needed me to tell the story of its organization through photography so they may better communicate with their audience and stakeholders. As its photographer, I worked diligently to truthfully capture Ugandans and how Filed of Hope contributes to their wellbeing.

SOWING SEEDS OF HOPE VIRTUAL FUNDRAISER

SOWING SEEDS OF HOPE

In the fall of 2020, Field of Hope chose to change it's in-person annual fundraiser to an online platform. I produced each canned element of video in the pre, and post shows. Additionally, I produced the live footage, and the recorded re-cap of the live portions. These elements are now edited together in this full-show video. The Fundraiser resulted in over $27,000 raised for FOH programs.

Since 2020, I have been the sole producer for Sowing Seeds of Hope. Most recently, the 2023 Sowing Seeds of Hope fundraiser raised over $90,000–generating funds to contribute to FOH programming that enables Ugandans through agriculture.

SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS

From graphics, to text, campaigns, stories, etc., I have been FOH's social media manager and producer since September 2020. To the right are a few samples of my curated posts. Since my involvement, FOH's social media followership and interactions have greatly increased at a steadily improving rate.

#WALKINGFORWOMEN GIVING TUESDAY VIRTUAL 6K

GIVING TUESDAY 6K WEBPAGE

#WALKINGFORWOMEN 6K

Field of Hope has an annual #GivingTuesday 6K, to raise awareness of the African women who walk an average of 6 kilometers per day carrying 40 gallons of water to care for their families.

For this event I developed a brand guide, and communications campaign. From the t-shirt design, website, social media, traditional, and email communications–I was heavily involved in this event and campaign. The 2019 registration was 23 walkers, and the 2020 campaign (with my involvement) had over 127 walkers registered.

WALTER WISDOM WEDNESDAYS

This information campaign is meant to inform the FOH's audience about Uganda's challenges, triumphs, language, culture, and more. Hosted by the Country Coordinator, Okullu Walter, this mini-campaign has been successful and is still ongoing.
