Student Research Week

Texas A&M Student Research Week is the largest student-run research symposium on the planet.

With over 800 presenters each year, the purpose of this event is to further student research engagement, practice and support at TAMU. The event runs for a week in March every year, and is open to all Aggies, all majors, and all levels.

I was the Marketing Coordinator for SRW in 2019-2020, and promoted the event through multiple messaging stages via social media, traditional media, and email communications.

Before communication messages began, I updated our website and social media channels with the new-and improved logo and brand guide I custom-designed for this organization.

RECRUITMENT

The first phase of marketing and communications for SRW is the recruitment phase. I targeted messages to appeal to students at TAMU from all majors, disciplines, and levels of degree to present at SRW. This was done through traditional media like flyers and yard signs across campus, and digital media like social posts, digital signage and targeted emails to educate and remind students about this incredible opportunity

THE SOCIAL SIDE

I used social platforms Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to target 18-26 year olds in the Bryan/College Station, Texas, area through youthful, humorous, attractive and short social posts. The first phase of communication targeted students to participate, and the second phase targeted students, faculty, and community members to attend and support the event.
